DirectNIC
From Katrina Help Info
DirectNIC is a DNS registration and hosting company located in downtown New Orleans's Central Business District. Several employees of the company prepped (thoroughly) for Hurricane Katrina, and rode the storm (and subsequent disarray) out in their datacenter, located on floors 9 and 10 of 650 Poydras St. map (http://krioni.100free.com/interdictor.html).
The company's crisis coordinator, ex-Special Forces solider Michael Barnett, maintained a LiveJournal in his free time, and it has become a source of unfiltered news and a rallying point (quite to the team's surprise) for many discontent with the government's reactions to the events. Mike refers to the outpost as Camp Crystal, and the staffers as Team SOTI.
