Fund Raiser Volunteers
I live in Humboldt County, Northern California and am a financially impaired college student. However, being an activist, I'm a fairly good fundraiser (which I plan to start immediatley for hurricane victims). I would like to use the money to relocate people to California. There are people in my little rural community that are willing to open their homes and help people get back on there feet and I just saw on Craig's list that there are people in the San Franscico area that want to open their homes to hurricane refugees. Able-Bodied Assistance From Colorado from a Native Mississippian
I'm a native Mississippian now living in Denver, Co and wish to offer my volunteer services to the victims of Katrina on the MS Gulf Coast. I'm a 46 year old wildlife biologist for the federal government and in excellent physical condition. I can run heavy equipment, operate off road vehicles and a variety boats including airboats, in highly variable and adverse conditions and have extensive experience in the coastal marshes and swamps of south LA and MS. I have construction, oilfield, and welding experience. I can also cook. I'll do anything to help and I can bring some supplies. I am a commercial/industrial/residential building and roofing contractor from upstate New York who wants to help by donating my expertise and labor. I intend to leave New York sometime around September 10th and plan to stay in the disaster area for an extended period of time. I will be traveling in a 14' cube van full of tools and will have approximately 400 cubic feet of cargo space available to transport supplies. I am in Ohio looking for assistance in driving as much food and potable water down to the children waiting for transportation and evacuation.
